The music was still playing.

Crystal chandeliers shimmered above the grand ballroom, laughter echoing between marble columns—but something had shifted. The air turned heavy, like a storm waiting to explode.

She stood frozen.

The bride—still in her white gown—gripped the edge of the table as whispers spread like wildfire. Across the room, the powerful patriarch smiled
 but it wasn’t a celebration smile.

It was control.

“You think anyone will believe you?” he said quietly, stepping closer.

Her heart pounded.

For a moment, she almost gave in—almost let fear silence her.

But then


She saw the reflection of herself in the mirror behind him.

Not weak.
