Chapter 3 — A New Beginning

Months passed.
Spring arrived.
And with it, something the mansion hadn’t seen in a long time—
Joy.
The gardens bloomed in vibrant color, but none shone brighter than the girl running across the grass, her laughter echoing freely.
Gone was the frightened child on the marble floor.
In her place stood someone stronger.
Someone healing.
Someone whole.
Her father watched from the terrace, a quiet smile on his face.
“Sir,” one of his assistants approached carefully. “The board is asking if you’re ready to resume full operations.”
He glanced back at the garden.
At his daughter.
“At one time,” he said slowly, “I thought this company was everything.”
He turned, his voice firm.
“I was wrong.”
The assistant nodded, understanding more than the words themselves.
Later that afternoon, the girl walked up to him, holding something behind her back.
“I made something,” she said shyly.
He knelt down. “Can I see?”
She revealed a small, hand-drawn picture.
It showed two figures holding hands in front of a big house.
Above them, in uneven letters, were the words:
“My real home.”
His vision blurred.
“It’s perfect,” he said, his voice thick.
She hesitated. “Are you… going to leave again?”
The question cut deep—but he answered without hesitation.
“No,” he said firmly. “Not like before. Never like that again.”
She studied his face carefully, searching for doubt.
She found none.
Slowly, she slipped her hand into his.
And this time—
She didn’t let go.
Because this wasn’t just a house anymore.
It wasn’t just an empire.
It was something far more powerful.
A family.

And at last—
They were home.
