Chapter 2: The Hidden Name

Three weeks earlier, Victoria Holmes had not been a passenger.

She had been a ghost.

To everyone at Holmes Aviation Group, she was “away on extended evaluation,” a quiet heir who avoided publicity. Only a handful of executives knew the truth: she wasn’t just the founder’s daughter—she was now the controlling owner after his sudden passing.

But Victoria had insisted on one thing before taking full control:

“I want to see how my airline really treats people when no one is watching.”

So she boarded Flight 417 under a simplified identity. No VIP status. No corporate recognition. Just Victoria Holmes in economy-class disguise.

What she discovered in those first hours unsettled her.

The crew was divided—some kind, some dismissive, but one man stood out immediately.

Captain Daniel Rourke.

He treated passengers like obstacles rather than human beings. Harsh tone. No patience. And a dangerous ego masked as discipline.

But the real problem came mid-flight.

A minor turbulence warning had triggered a false sensor alert. Nothing critical—but the system flagged a “potential security anomaly” due to a misread cabin pressure report.

Victoria, trained in aviation systems by her father himself, quietly tried to inform a flight attendant.

That was her mistake.

She was labeled “interfering.”

Then “disruptive.”

Then “suspicious.”

And within twenty minutes, Captain Rourke made the decision that changed everything.

“Remove her from the aircraft.”

Now, sitting in a private terminal lounge hours later, Victoria replayed every moment in her mind—not with anger alone, but with clarity.

This wasn’t just humiliation.

It was systemic failure.

And worse… someone had used her airline’s authority to silence the owner of the company itself.

Her phone buzzed.

Adrian again.

“We found something,” he said. “The captain didn’t act alone. Someone in headquarters confirmed the removal order under a flagged identity profile.”

Victoria’s eyes sharpened.

“Who approved it?”

A pause.

Then:

“…Your uncle.”

The room went silent.

Victoria’s breathing slowed.

So it wasn’t a mistake.

It was sabotage.
