Chapter 3: A New Beginning

Later that night, the ballroom looked different.

Warmer.

Lighter.

Full of something it hadn’t had before—hope.

The girl sat again, but this time not because she had to. She was resting, laughing softly with her father beside her, both of them still overwhelmed by what had happened.

“Where is he?” she suddenly asked, looking around.

The boy was gone.

No one had seen him leave.

The father frowned. “I wanted to thank him…”

The girl smiled gently, her eyes distant. “I think… he didn’t come for thanks.”

She looked down at her legs, then back at her father.

“I think he came so I could believe.”

Her father wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. “And do you?”

She nodded.

More certain than ever.

“Yeah,” she said softly. “I do.”

Outside, the rain had stopped.

The clouds parted, revealing a quiet, starlit sky.

And inside that grand ballroom, something even more powerful than wealth or status had taken root—

A second chance.

A miracle born not from magic…

Do you want to try?
