By morning, the illusion had already started to crack.

Daniel arrived at the clinic with a folder thick enough to end a life built on appearances.

“Everything you signed, everything you paid for—it’s all here,” he said, placing it gently on the table. “The house, the accounts, the staff salaries… it’s legally yours.”

“I know,” I said quietly.

“But now,” he added, “we make sure everyone else knows.”

Later that day, while Sabina rested, Daniel filed emergency legal motions.

Access restrictions.

Financial freezes.

Property enforcement.

By evening, the Ashford mansion no longer belonged to the people hosting dinner parties inside it.
