The moment Elena ended the call, the restaurant was no longer frozen—it was watching.

Not one person returned to their meal.

Phones slowly lifted.

David stepped back, his chest rising and falling faster now, his confidence cracking under the weight of a room that no longer feared him—but judged him.

“This is ridiculous,” he snapped, trying to recover. “It was a private family matter.”

“No,” Elena replied calmly, her eyes never leaving his. “You made it public the moment you laid your hands on her.”

Maya remained seated, trembling, her fingers clutching the edge of the table as if it were the only thing keeping her grounded.

Rebecca scoffed. “You’ve embarrassed us all. Calling the police? Over a small correction?”

Elena turned her head slowly.

“A correction doesn’t leave bruises,” she said.

That was when a voice came from behind.

“I saw everything.”

A young waitress stepped forward, her hands still shaking—but her voice steady.

“And so did half the room.”

More voices followed.

“He dragged her—”

“By the hair—”

“It was violent—”

David looked around, panic rising. Control was slipping. Fast.
