Chapter 5: A New Life, Written in Light

Three months later, the world looked different.
The fear was gone.
The hiding was over.
In a quiet coastal house far from Boston, waves rolled gently against the shore.
Maren stood by the window, holding a newborn wrapped in soft white.
“Your father is terrifying,” she whispered to the baby with a soft smile.
Behind her, Damien leaned against the doorframe.
“I heard that.”
She turned, laughter in her eyes for the first time in a long time.
“But he loves you,” she added softly.
Damien stepped forward, carefully taking the child into his arms.
For a man who ruled through power, his touch was impossibly gentle.
“What’s his name?” he asked.
Maren met his eyes.
“Rowe,” she said. “Because he survived everything before he even took his first breath.”
Damien nodded, emotion tightening his throat.
“He won’t have to fight like we did,” he said.
“No,” Maren agreed. “He’ll grow up knowing he was wanted.”
Outside, the ocean stretched endlessly.
Inside, something far stronger had been built.
Not fear.
Not power.
But family.
And for the first time in his life, Damien Rowe didn’t need the world to kneel.

Because everything he had ever fought for…
Was finally in his arms.
