CHAPTER 2: THE FOOTAGE THEY NEVER EXPECTED

Two hours later, the hospital felt very different.
Private floor.
Locked doors.
Security stationed at every entrance.
Marcus Thorne didn’t do things halfway.
Isabella sat in a waiting room, still in her red dress, scrolling her phone with forced calm.
Until the door opened.
And Marcus walked in.
Behind him stood a man in a gray suit.
“Isabella Rossi,” Marcus said. “Meet Daniel Cho. Head of security for Thorne Holdings.”
Isabella rolled her eyes. “If this is about earlier—”
Daniel placed a tablet on the table and pressed play.
The screen lit up.
Hospital suite footage.
No audio.
No distortion.
Just truth.
Khloe backing away.
Isabella advancing.
The shove.
The fall.
And then—
The kick.
Clear.
Deliberate.
Unmistakable.
The room went silent.
Isabella’s face drained of color.
“That’s not—this is edited—”
“It’s pulled directly from hospital security,” Marcus said calmly. “Multiple angles. Time-stamped. Backed up to three servers.”
He leaned slightly closer.
“And already copied to my legal team.”
For the first time, Isabella looked afraid.
But Marcus wasn’t finished.
“Would you like to explain,” he said softly, “why my wife’s uncle—Director Enzo Marino—personally authorized deleting this footage thirty minutes after the incident?”
That hit harder than the video.
Because Isabella hadn’t known that part.
And now… she understood.

This wasn’t damage control anymore.
This was exposure.
