Chapter 2: The Reveal

Before another word could be spoken, the grand doors of the ballroom opened.
The sound turned every head.
The venue manager entered quickly, two assistants behind him. He held a leather folder tightly in both hands, his expression urgentâbut controlled.
He didnât look at Patricia.
He didnât look at Andrew.
He walked straight to Clara.
Then, in front of everyone, he stopped⊠and bowed.
The room froze.
âMadam,â he said respectfully, extending the folder toward her, âyour entire venue is ready.â
For a second, no one breathed.
Clara accepted the folder without hesitation.
Patriciaâs smile disappeared. âWhat is this supposed to mean?â
The manager straightened, calm and precise.
âIt means the estate is under her ownership, effective immediately.â
A ripple of disbelief swept through the crowd.
Andrewâs face drained of color. âThatâs⊠not possible.â
Clara finally looked at himânot as a bride, but as a stranger.
âI bought it three months ago,â she said quietly.
The words landed like thunder.
Patricia took a step back, her composure cracking. âYouâre lying.â
Clara opened the folder and revealed the contractâsigned, sealed, undeniable.
âI didnât just pay for the dress,â she added. âI paid for everything.â
The hall, the catering, the staff⊠every detail.
Including the dinner menu Patricia had insisted on changing.
The same menu Clara had already replaced.
