CHAPTER 2: THE MAN WHO NEVER MISSES

By nightfall, the story had already started spreading.

“A pregnant woman pushed down courthouse stairs.”

But the name Harrison Cole changed everything.

Judges adjusted their schedules.

Partners canceled meetings.

Because Harrison didn’t just win cases—he dismantled people.

Inside the hospital, machines hummed steadily around Khloe.

Emergency surgery had saved the baby.

Barely.

A premature girl, placed in NICU, fighting for every breath.

Harrison stood behind the glass, arms crossed, staring at the tiny life inside the incubator.

“So you’re the reason she held on,” he murmured.

A nurse approached carefully.

“Mr. Cole… your sister is stable, but—”

“But she may not wake up,” he finished.

The nurse hesitated.

He nodded once.

“Thank you.”

Then he turned.

And became someone else entirely.
