CHAPTER 2: THE SHOCKING TRUTH

The maid held her cheek, trembling, tears streaming down her face. No one moved. No one spoke.

Then slowly… she looked up.

Victoria froze.

For the first time, she truly saw her.

Bruises. Cuts. Pain written across her skin like a story no one had cared to read.

The girl’s voice shook as she whispered:

“Happy birthday… sister.”

Victoria’s world collapsed.

Her breath caught. Her heart pounded.

“No… that can’t be…” she whispered.

But deep inside—she knew.

The eyes. The voice. The feeling she couldn’t explain.

Memories came rushing back—childhood laughter, promises, a sister she had lost years ago.

And now… she had just hurt her.

“I’ve been looking for you…” the girl cried softly.

Victoria’s hands trembled.

“What happened to you?” she asked, her voice breaking.

The ballroom no longer existed.
