CHAPTER 1: THE NAME THAT SHATTERED THE ROOM

The ballroom fell into a suffocating silence.

The officer’s voice didn’t need to be loud. Authority clung to every syllable like iron.

“Lock the doors.”

A sharp click echoed as guards moved instantly. No one questioned him. No one dared.

The blonde woman’s smirk faltered for the first time.

“What is the meaning of this?” she snapped, though her voice carried a tremor she couldn’t hide.

The officer didn’t answer her.

Instead, he turned slowly toward the young mother still kneeling on the marble floor, clutching her baby protectively. His gaze softened—just slightly—as if recognizing something sacred.

He held up the medal.

“MACRUS VANH 105,” he read quietly.

A ripple of shock moved through the crowd.

One man gasped. Another stepped back as if the name itself carried danger.

“That crest…” someone whispered. “That’s the royal bloodline thought to be extinguished.”

The blonde woman’s face drained of color.

“That’s impossible,” she said quickly. “She’s an orphan. She has no name, no family—”

“She has a name,” the officer cut in, his tone sharp as a blade.

He stepped closer to the young woman.

“Kneel… no longer.”

The words weren’t a suggestion.

They were a command wrapped in respect.

Slowly, shakily, the young mother stood.

Tears still clung to her lashes, but something else flickered behind her eyes now—something long buried.

The officer lowered his head.

“My Lady… do you remember who you are?”

The room held its breath.

May you like

And for the first time—

She looked up without fear.
