The Collapse of Power

Within minutes, the room that once glittered with wealth and arrogance turned into a courtroom without walls.

Phones were being quietly lowered. Whispered alliances shifted. People who once laughed at Elena now avoided her gaze.

The groom’s mother stepped forward, her gold jewelry clinking sharply.

“You don’t understand what you’re interfering with,” she snapped. “This union benefits both families.”

The man in black didn’t raise his voice.

“I understand perfectly,” he said. “That’s why I’m ending it.”

He turned slightly, finally revealing himself to the room not as a guest—but as someone far above it.

Whispers erupted.

“Isn’t that…”
“That company head…”
“No way, that’s him…”

Elena looked up at him again, confused.

“You don’t remember me, do you?” he asked gently.

She shook her head, lost.

His expression softened.

“I used to hold you when you were small enough to fall asleep on my shoulder,” he said. “Before life took you away from me.”

The room froze harder than before.

The groom’s voice cracked. “That’s impossible…”

But Elena’s memories flickered—warm hands, distant laughter, a man she hadn’t seen since childhood.

Her breath caught.

“…Dad?”

He nodded once.

And for the first time that night, Elena didn’t feel alone.
