CHAPTER 2 — “The Hidden Evidence”

Later that night, Michael sits alone inside the shelter office, staring at old archived files Emily brought forward.

Birth records. Hospital logs. Security footage fragments.

Proof that Ashley had intercepted communication years ago—erasing letters, blocking calls, rewriting timelines.

Emily stands in the doorway, exhausted but unwavering.

“You didn’t abandon us,” she says softly. “You were kept away.”

Michael’s hands shake as he reads the documents again. “She built a wall between us
”

Outside, Ashley is seen through the window, speaking sharply to the attorneys, her control slipping into frustration.

One attorney finally speaks back to her. “If this evidence holds in court, your claim collapses.”

Ashley’s expression hardens—not fear, but calculation.

She isn’t finished yet.

But neither is Michael.
