Two days later, the house looked normal again.
That was the most disturbing part.
Sarah smiled at breakfast. She moved through the kitchen like nothing had ever happened. The kind of normal that only exists when someone believes they will never be questioned.
Mark didnât argue. He didnât confront her.
Instead, he made calls.
A lawyer. A social worker. A family mediation officer. Quiet voices on the other end began to shift tone once he sent them the footage.
By evening, someone else arrivedâan official case investigator.
Sarahâs expression changed for the first time when she saw the folder in Markâs hand.
