The conference room emptied slowly, like air leaving a sealed chamber.

Whispers replaced silence, but none of them carried mockery anymore.

Only respect.

The female officer remained by the window, looking out over the city. The same calm presence. The same steady breathing.

One of the younger staff members approached cautiously.

“I
 I’m sorry,” she said. “For earlier. We didn’t understand.”

The officer turned slightly, her expression softer now—but still composed.

“You don’t need to,” she replied. “You just need to pay attention next time.”

The woman nodded, relieved.

Outside, sirens echoed faintly in the distance as the man was taken away.

The officer glanced at her watch one last time.

Still ticking.

Still precise.

But now, the tension was gone.

Justice didn’t arrive loudly.

It arrived exactly on time.
