The next morning, everything changed.

No more blind trust.

No more silence.

I took photos of every bruise.

Documented everything.

And when Megan hesitated, I knelt beside her.

“No more protecting her,” I said. “We protect you now. And our baby.”

She nodded.

That was all I needed.

By afternoon, we were at the police station.

By evening, a report was filed.

And by the end of the week, my mother was no longer just a voice in my head—

She was under investigation.

She called. Dozens of times.
