The ballroom didn’t just go quiet.

Crystal chandeliers shimmered above a crowd that suddenly forgot how to speak. Wealthy guests—politicians, investors, social elites—stood locked in place as if the air itself had turned solid.

Thomas didn’t raise his voice.

“You hurt my daughter. Now everyone will know.”

The sentence spread through the room like a shockwave.

Logan tried to sit up, but his confidence had already cracked. His fingers trembled against the polished marble floor.

“That’s a serious accusation,” he muttered, forcing a weak smile.

But Thomas didn’t look at him.

Instead, he turned slightly—just enough for the crowd to follow his gaze.

“Emily,” he said gently. “You don’t have to hide anymore.”
