The group planned to expose the network. But doing so meant putting Noah at risk again.
“You can stay hidden,” Harris told him. “We’ll protect you.”
Noah looked at Elena. “If I hide… they’ll keep taking other kids, right?”
Elena’s heart broke. “You don’t have to do this.”
“But I want to,” he said softly. “Maybe I don’t remember being Alex… but I know I don’t want anyone else to feel like I did.”
That night, they set a trap.
Using Noah as bait, with police hidden nearby, they waited.
The black car returned.
