“Mom… say something,” Julián muttered.
But Ofelia had nothing left.
Her elegance—her control—her illusion of superiority… gone.
“You told me it was handled,” Julián hissed under his breath. “You said no one would ever find out.”
“I tried to protect you,” she snapped back, her voice breaking. “Everything I did was for you!”
The investigator raised an eyebrow.

Julián turned sharply. “You set this up?”
Ernesto didn’t deny it.
“For months,” he said. “I waited. I documented. I built a case.”
He looked directly at his daughter through the glass.
“And today… you gave me the confession I needed.”
Julián lunged forward.
“YOU THINK YOU CAN RUIN ME?!”
Two officers restrained him instantly.
The cake toppled to the floor.
