Report: Iran Claims It Has Uranium for 11 Nuclear Weapons

A new report has intensified global concerns about Iran’s nuclear capabilities after officials revealed that Tehran claims to possess enough enriched uranium to potentially produce up to 11 nuclear weapons.

The disclosure has raised alarms among Western governments and international nuclear watchdogs, fueling fresh debate over the future of Iran’s nuclear program and regional security.

According to reports from diplomatic sources, Iranian negotiators stated during previous talks that the country currently controls approximately 460 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent purity. While this level is technically below the 90 percent enrichment typically required for weapons-grade material, experts say the final step to reach that level could be completed relatively quickly if Iran chose to do so.

Nuclear experts explain that uranium enriched to 60 percent is already considered dangerously close to weapons-grade. In theory, the material could be further enriched to the necessary level for nuclear weapons within days or weeks using advanced centrifuges.

Estimates from international monitoring agencies suggest that the amount currently attributed to Iran could be sufficient for roughly ten to eleven nuclear warheads if fully processed.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog, has repeatedly warned that Iran’s growing stockpile of highly enriched uranium is a serious concern.

The agency has confirmed that Iran is the only non-nuclear-weapon state currently producing uranium enriched to such high levels, increasing fears of nuclear proliferation.

Despite these warnings, Iranian officials maintain that their nuclear program is strictly for peaceful purposes, including energy production and scientific research. Tehran has consistently denied any intention to build nuclear weapons and has accused Western countries of politicizing its nuclear activities.
