The words fell softly.
“Your job is done.”
But in the vast marble hallway, beneath the glow of crystal chandeliers, they echoed like a verdict carved in stone.
The Maid didn’t move immediately.
Her fingers still tingled from the grip she had forced onto the Woman in Red’s wrist. Her breath was steady—but her chest rose just slightly higher than before. A controlled storm behind still eyes.
The Woman in Red adjusted her diamond bracelet, her lips tightening in disbelief.
“You’ll regret this,” she whispered, not loudly—but with venom refined by years of power.
The Maid finally stepped back.

The Elderly Woman in the wheelchair trembled faintly, her hands resting on the armrests, fragile but dignified. Her eyes—glassy with age—shifted between the Maid and the Man in Suit.
The Man in Suit walked forward slowly, each step deliberate.
“Remove her from the estate,” he said calmly.
Two staff members hesitated—but only for a second—before approaching the Maid.
Still, she didn’t resist.
As she was escorted away, her eyes flickered once toward the Elderly Woman.
And in that silent exchange, something passed between them.

Not pity.
Recognition.
