By evening, the consequences began.
Daniel’s phone wouldn’t stop vibrating.
Investors pulling out.
Accounts frozen.
Partnerships “under review.”
The deal he had built his entire future on… was gone.
Vanessa found him in the empty ballroom, her voice no longer soft.
“You told me you had control,” she said.
“I did,” he replied, running a hand through his hair. “Until she—”
“Until she reminded you who she is,” Vanessa cut in.
Silence fell between them.
For the first time, Daniel understood the truth:
He hadn’t been choosing between two women.
