CHAPTER 1: The Footage That Changed Everything
The silence in the hospital suite didn’t last long.
“Call the medical team. Now!” Marcus’s voice snapped like a gunshot.
He dropped to his knees beside Khloe, his hands trembling as he tried to assess her injuries. Her fingers clutched his sleeve weakly, her lips pale.
“The baby…” she whispered.
Before Marcus could respond, the doors burst open again.
Dr. Adrian Hale entered, flanked by two nurses and a security officer. His expression—calm at first—shattered the moment his eyes landed on Khloe.
“Khloe!” His voice broke. He rushed forward, fury already building beneath his professional composure.
Isabella seized the moment.
“She attacked me first!” she cried, stepping backward dramatically. “I was defending myself—”
“Enough.”
The single word from Dr. Hale cut through the room like steel.
He didn’t even look at Isabella.
“Take her to surgery prep. Now,” he ordered.
As the nurses carefully lifted Khloe onto a stretcher, Marcus stood slowly, his gaze darkening as it shifted toward Isabella.
“You touched her,” he said quietly.
Isabella swallowed—but quickly recovered, lifting her chin.
“She’s lying. Everyone knows she’s unstable—”
“Security footage,” Dr. Hale interrupted coldly.
The words landed like a bomb.
Isabella froze.
“There are cameras in this suite,” he continued, his eyes finally locking onto hers. “Every second… recorded.”
