CHAPTER 1: The Arrival

The moment the man stepped out of the black SUV, the entire lobby seemed to hold its breath.

He didn’t look around. Didn’t react to the shattered glass or the whispers. His eyes were fixed on the woman lying on the floor.

“Careful,” he said softly as he knelt beside her.

The pregnant woman looked up, confused—but not afraid.

Because she recognized him.

And that’s when the blonde woman’s confidence began to crack.

“Do you… know her?” she asked, her voice no longer steady.

The man stood up slowly, adjusting his cufflinks.

“Know her?” he repeated.

“She’s the reason this hotel even exists.”
