CHAPTER 2: THE MAN WHO OWNED FEAR

Grayson dragged Harper across the rug, fury returning to his face as if control alone could undo what he had just seen in that shattered receiver.
“Five minutes?” he sneered. “You think anyone walks into my house uninvited?”
Then—
Footsteps.
Not rushed.
Measured.
Coming closer.
Celeste stiffened. Paige’s grip loosened slightly.
Grayson turned toward the doorway just as Dominic Kane appeared.
No shouting.
No chaos.
Just presence.
And suddenly the room felt smaller.
“Let her go,” Dominic said.
Grayson laughed—but it cracked halfway through.
“You don’t tell me what to do in my own—”
Dominic stepped forward once.
That was enough.
Something ancient and primal passed through the room—something that had nothing to do with money or politics.
