Chapter 2: The Paper That Changed Everything

The room shifted the second the papers hit the marble floor.

Ethan frowned, clearly annoyed. “What is this nonsense?”

“Go ahead,” I said. “Read it out loud.”

He didn’t want to. But the eyes in the room forced him.

As he picked up the document, his confidence began to crack.

Line by line… word by word…

His face drained of color.

“No… that’s not possible,” he whispered.

“Oh, it is,” I said.

His mistress leaned closer. “What is it?”

He didn’t answer.

Because he couldn’t.

The mansion… the company… the investments…

Everything.

All of it was under my name.

Not his.

Never his.

“You thought you built this empire,” I said quietly. “But every contract, every deal… was signed through my family’s trust.”

The room erupted into murmurs.

Ethan staggered back a step.

“You… you hid this from me?”

May you like

I smiled faintly.

“No, Ethan. You just never cared enough to ask.”
