Chapter 4: The Truth Revealed

“Call an ambulance!”
“Is she breathing?!”
Chaos erupted around her, but Sarah could barely hear anything. Her vision blurred. Her hand clutched her stomach desperately.
“Stay with me,” a voice urged.
Footsteps thundered through the hall.
“WHAT HAPPENED?!”
It was Daniel.
Eleanor’s son.
Sarah’s husband.
He rushed to her side, dropping to his knees, his face pale with shock.
“Sarah—oh my God—”
“She fell,” Eleanor said quickly, her voice controlled. “It was an accident.”
But then—
“No… it wasn’t.”
The voice came from behind.
All eyes turned.
It was Margaret—the family’s long-time housekeeper. Quiet. Invisible. Forgotten.
Until now.
“I saw everything,” she said, her voice shaking but firm. “Mrs. Whitmore pushed her.”
A ripple of shock spread across the room.
Daniel slowly looked up at his mother, disbelief turning into something far darker.
“Tell me that’s not true.”
