Chapter 1: The Voice That Shouldn’t Exist

“…everything she owns.”

The words echoed through the silent hall like a gunshot.

The guests froze. Even the air seemed to stop moving.

The groom staggered back, his confident smile collapsing into something raw and exposed. “It’s fake,” he snapped quickly. “Edited. Anyone could—”

But his voice lacked power now.

The bride’s fingers trembled as she held the cracked camera tighter. “Play it again.”

“No!” he shouted, stepping forward—but she stepped back.

And the little girl held onto her dress.

Click.

The voice returned, clearer this time despite the distortion.

“After the wedding, I’ll take everything she owns. Her father’s company… her shares… then I’m gone.”

A murmur rippled through the guests.

The bride’s tears fell silently now—not of confusion, but of realization.

“You were using me?” she whispered.

The groom said nothing.
