Chapter 4: The Truth Costs Nothing

Hours later, the guests were gone.

The flowers wilted in silence.

The wedding never happened.

The bride sat alone on the steps outside, her dress spread around her like something from another life.

Lina sat beside her, swinging her small feet.

“Are you mad?” Lina asked softly.

The bride looked at her.

Then… she smiled.

“No.”

She wiped her tears.

“I think you saved me.”

Lina blinked. “Really?”

“Yes.”

The bride gently took the broken camera.

“Truth doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.”

She looked down at the little girl.

“Where’s your mom?”

Lina hesitated.

“…Working.”

“Then we’ll go find her.”

And for the first time that day—

The bride stood not as someone abandoned…

But as someone free.
