Chapter 3: The Girl in the Shadows

The lights cut out.
Darkness swallowed the room.
Then—
A single spotlight flickered on near the doorway.
A silhouette appeared.
Slim. Still. Watching.
Oliver whispered, “Who… is that?”
The figure stepped forward.
A young woman.
No older than eighteen.
Her eyes met Eliza’s—and for a moment, the world stopped.
They had the same eyes.
The same expression.
The same pain.
Eliza’s breath hitched.
“…Emily?”
The girl didn’t respond.
Marcus’s voice echoed again.
“Meet the daughter you lost… and the weapon you never knew you had.”
Emily’s gaze shifted to Damian.
Then to Oliver.
Something flickered in her expression—something human.
May you like
Something fragile.
“Am I… supposed to hurt them?” she asked quietly.
