CHAPTER 4: THE EMPIRE CRACKS
Ethan turned to his father, something shifting deep inside him.
“All these years… what else have you done?” he asked.
The older man’s silence was the answer.
Power.
Money.
Control.
That’s all it had ever been.
“You built this empire on people’s lives,” Ethan said, voice shaking. “And now you’re willing to hurt my wife to keep it hidden?”
“She’s a threat,” the father snapped.
“No,” Ethan said firmly. “You are.”
For the first time, the son stepped out of the shadow.
Security was called.
Not to protect the patriarch.
But to remove him.
As his father was escorted out, he turned back one last time.
“You’re destroying everything I built.”
