Within minutes, the once-grand wedding dissolved.
Guests whispered, some leaving in shock, others lingering—fascinated.
Patricia was escorted out, her protests echoing through the hall.
Andrew followed, but not before turning back one last time.
“Clara… I did love you.”
She didn’t answer.
Because now she understood—
Love without respect wasn’t love at all.
When the doors finally closed behind them, the ballroom grew quiet again.
But this silence was different.
Lighter.
Free.
The manager approached her carefully. “Madam… shall we prepare to close the hall?”
Clara looked around.
At the flowers.
At the lights.
At the space she had built.
Then she shook her head.
“No,” she said slowly. “We’re not closing anything.”
