CHAPTER 3: THE REVELATION

Hours later, the Sterling Estate was no longer a palace.

It was a crime scene.

Flashing lights painted the mansion in red and blue as investigators moved in and out, carrying boxes filled with decades of secrets.

Upstairs, in a quiet room overlooking the river, Julian stood with Elena.

“You planned this… from the beginning,” he said.

Elena didn’t deny it.

“I had to.”

“Why?” His voice broke. “Why marry me?”

That question lingered in the air longer than either of them expected.

Finally, Elena stepped closer.

“Because you were the only thing in that family that wasn’t corrupted.”

Julian shook his head. “That doesn’t make this right.”

“No,” she admitted. “But it makes it necessary.”

She gently placed his hand over her stomach.

“This child deserves a world where power doesn’t mean cruelty.”

Julian closed his eyes.

Everything he believed in had been rewritten.
