Chapter 2: The Architect’s Fall

Minutes felt like hours.
The Captor’s breath turned into visible clouds, his movements slower, heavier. He slammed his fists against the frozen steel, but the sound was dull—absorbed by the cold.
“Evelyn!” he screamed. “You’ll die in there too!”
Silence.
Then—
A soft click.
Inside the freezer, a hidden panel slid open behind Evelyn. A narrow passage revealed itself—dark, but real.
She stepped inside, pausing just once to glance back at the frozen room.
“You never checked the blueprints closely enough,” she said into the remote.
The Captor’s eyes widened.
“What…?”
“I didn’t just survive your game,” she said. “I studied it. Improved it.”
The corridor lights flickered violently as the system began redirecting power. Emergency heat shut down completely.
A final failsafe.
His failsafe.
But now, hers.
“You designed a perfect prison,” Evelyn continued, her voice now fading as she walked deeper into the hidden passage. “I just decided who it was meant for.”
“No—NO—WAIT!”
His voice broke into desperate pleading.
But Evelyn was already gone.
The last thing he heard was the slow, merciless hum of the system tightening its grip.
And then—
Darkness.
May you like
Stillness.
Cold.
