The night air felt unreal.
Evelyn stepped out of a concealed hatch behind the facility, the cold metal door sealing quietly behind her. Snow fell lightly, dusting the ground in silence.
For a moment, she just stood there.
Breathing.
Alive.
In the distance, sirens began to rise—faint at first, then growing. She had triggered the anonymous alert minutes ago. Authorities would find the facility.
They would find everything.
The evidence.
The recordings.
The truth.
Evelyn pulled off her gloves, staring at her hands—not shaking anymore.
Not afraid anymore.
A black SUV approached slowly, headlights cutting through the snowfall. It stopped a few feet away.
The driver’s window rolled down.
A woman inside—calm, composed—met Evelyn’s eyes.
“It’s done?” she asked.
Evelyn nodded.
“No more games.”
The woman gave a small, approving smile.
“Good,” she said. “Then let’s make sure it never happens again.”
Evelyn took one last look at the building behind her.
A place of nightmares.
Now, a tomb for them.
She stepped into the vehicle.
The door shut.
