CHAPTER 1: LOCKDOWN

A ripple of panic spread through the ballroom as the golden glow of chandeliers suddenly felt suffocating. Conversations died mid-sentence. Glasses shattered on marble floors. The illusion of elegance cracked in an instant.
He turned first.
“What did you do?” His voice, once smooth and arrogant, now trembled under pressure.
She didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, she stepped back—slow, deliberate—her heels echoing against the polished floor. The faint blood on her lip only made her look more dangerous, more real.
“I told you,” she said softly, lifting her phone. “You should’ve left when you had the chance.”
Security alarms began to hum low in the walls—barely audible, but enough to make the air feel heavier.
Guests rushed toward the doors, pounding, screaming. No response.
The man grabbed her wrist.
“You think this is a game?” he snapped, but his grip wasn’t steady anymore.
She tilted her head, studying him like a puzzle already solved.
“No,” she whispered. “This is accountability.”
Above them, hidden cameras adjusted—tracking movement. Watching everything.
Recording everything.
The realization hit him slowly.
This wasn’t chaos.
This was planned.
And they were exactly where she wanted them.
“Who are you?” he asked, voice cracking.
For the first time, her smile softened—but not with kindness.
“With all your money,” she said, “you never thought to ask that before hurting people.”
May you like
The lights dimmed slightly.
And somewhere, far beyond the locked doors… someone was watching.
