Chapter 3: The Right Person Gets Thrown Out

Rain poured heavily the night Grayson returned.

He stood outside the mansion gates, soaked, furious, desperate.

“You can’t do this to me!” he shouted at the guards. “I made that house run!”

But no one moved.

Inside, in the warm glow of the study, Alexander watched silently through the window.

Lily stood nearby, holding a cup of tea he had insisted she take.

“Does it… bother you?” she asked softly.

He didn’t look away.

“No.”

Grayson banged on the gate again, his voice cracking. “I have nowhere to go!”

Alexander finally turned.

“Neither did you,” he said quietly, “when you left others with nothing.”

Lily looked down, understanding.

The guards stepped forward.

And just like that—

The man who once ruled the mansion was dragged away into the storm.

Gone.

Not with dignity.

Not with power.

But with the same helplessness he once forced on others.

Lily exhaled slowly.

“It’s over,” she said.

Alexander nodded.

“No,” he corrected gently. “It’s just beginning.”

Weeks later, the mansion was no longer a place of fear.

It became something else entirely.

A place where staff laughed.

Where meals were shared.

Where people mattered.

And on a bright morning, Lily stood at the gates again—but this time, dressed in clean clothes, holding an acceptance letter to nursing school.

She turned back one last time.

Alexander stood at the steps.

Not as a distant billionaire.

But as the man who changed her life.

“Thank you,” she said.

He gave a small nod.

“Make it count.”

She smiled.

Then walked forward—

May you like

Not as a starving maid hiding in the shadows…

But as someone finally stepping into the light.
