CHAPTER 2 — “The Collapse of Control”

The bride steps back, her confidence cracking.

“This is edited,” she says sharply, forcing authority into her voice. “She planned this. She’s trying to destroy me.”

The maid shakes her head immediately, terrified but firm.

“I didn’t even know him before today
”

The groom raises one hand.

Not to silence them.

But to stop everything.

The room obeys.

He looks at the phone again, zooming in on details—timestamps, reflections, the diamond necklace the bride is wearing in the exact same form as tonight.

His expression tightens—not in anger yet, but in something deeper.

Betrayal taking shape.

Then he speaks, low and controlled:

“Why would you do this?”

The bride’s lips part
 but no answer comes.
