CHAPTER 2 â âThe Collapse of Controlâ

The bride steps back, her confidence cracking.
âThis is edited,â she says sharply, forcing authority into her voice. âShe planned this. Sheâs trying to destroy me.â
The maid shakes her head immediately, terrified but firm.
âI didnât even know him before todayâŠâ
The groom raises one hand.
Not to silence them.
But to stop everything.
The room obeys.
He looks at the phone again, zooming in on detailsâtimestamps, reflections, the diamond necklace the bride is wearing in the exact same form as tonight.
His expression tightensânot in anger yet, but in something deeper.
Betrayal taking shape.

âWhy would you do this?â
The brideâs lips part⊠but no answer comes.
May you like
For the first time, she looks afraidânot of being exposedâ
