CHAPTER 2: THE TRUTH BEHIND RANGER

Behind the arena fence, voices erupted.

“Pull him out!” someone shouted.

But no one dared move.

The boy slowly stepped closer.

One step.

Then another.

He reached out and placed the bandana gently on the bull’s forehead.

“You knew him,” the boy said softly. “My dad… he saved you, didn’t he?”

Ranger let out a deep, shaking breath.

And then something impossible happened.

The bull knelt.

Dust exploded into the air as its massive body lowered itself to the ground, head bowed in front of the child.

The crowd went silent.

Even the announcer forgot to speak.

From the far side of the arena, an old man suddenly pushed through security barriers, collapsing at the fence.

“Stop the match!” he screamed. “That animal doesn’t belong here!”

It was the ranch owner.

And behind him came another figure—older, slower, leaning on a cane.

A man the boy recognized instantly from old photographs.

His grandfather.

The truth came crashing in.

Ranger wasn’t just any bull.

He had been saved by the boy’s father years ago—rescued, raised, protected like family… before being stolen and sold to the illegal fighting circuit.
