CHAPTER 3: FREEDOM IN THE FINAL BREATH

The arena doors slowly opened.

For the first time, no one tried to control what happened next.

The boy placed both hands on Ranger’s face.

“You’re not a weapon,” he whispered. “You’re not a monster.”

Ranger closed his eyes.

A deep, rumbling breath filled the arena.

Then—slowly—he stood.

Not in aggression.

In peace.

The gate to the outside field was open now.

A path back to open land.

The boy stepped back.

“Go,” he said softly. “You’re free.”

For a moment, Ranger didn’t move.

Then he turned.

And walked.

Each step heavier than the last… until the arena faded behind him.

The crowd watched in stunned silence as the massive bull crossed into the open field beyond the gates—toward sunlight, wind, and endless space.

The boy’s grandfather knelt beside him, pulling him into a tight embrace.

“You did what I couldn’t,” the old man whispered. “You brought him home.”

The boy didn’t answer.

He just watched the horizon.

Where Ranger stood once more in the wild… no longer a fighter.

No longer a prisoner.

May you like

Just alive.

And free.
