That afternoon, his wife hesitated before speaking.
“There’s something I didn’t tell you…”
Her voice was fragile, almost afraid of breaking the peace he had just fought for.
“They’ve been treating me like this for months,” she admitted. “But… your mother said if I told you, it would ruin your relationship with your family.”
