Chapter 2: The Perfect Son Falls

The footage was crystal clear.

Preston standing near the head table.

Glancing around.

Making sure no one was watching.

Then…

Slipping his own phone into Sophie’s small denim jacket.

Gasps erupted across the ballroom.

My mother’s hand dropped from her mouth.

My father didn’t move—but his face drained of color.

“No—this is edited!” Preston shouted.

But the video kept playing.

Him walking back.

Grabbing the microphone.

Starting the accusation.

Every calculated step.

Every lie.

The officer paused the video.

“Sir,” he said coldly, “you planted the evidence and then assaulted a minor.”

The words hit harder than any weapon.

Preston turned to our parents.

“Say something! Tell them this is insane!”

But for the first time in his life…

No one came to save him.
