Chapter 2: The Hidden Truth

That night, in a quiet apartment far from the mansion, Daniel carefully cleaned the wound on her cheek.

“Tell me everything,” he whispered.

She hesitated, eyes filled with fear. “It wasn’t just today…”

Daniel’s hands stilled.

“She’s hated me since the beginning. She said I wasn’t worthy… that I would ruin your name.” Her voice cracked. “Today… she ordered the maid to drag me to the floor. She said I had to ‘learn my place.’”

Daniel’s jaw tightened.

“And the maid?” he asked.

“She didn’t say anything… but she didn’t stop it either.”

A heavy silence filled the room.

But then, something shifted.

“There’s more,” she added softly. “I heard something… before you came home. Your mother was talking on the phone. She said… ‘Once she’s gone, everything will fall into place.’”

Daniel’s eyes darkened.

“This isn’t over,” he said.
