Chapter 3: A New Beginning

Three months later.
The rain had long passed.
Sunlight poured through the large windows of a quiet home overlooking the city—the same city that once held secrets, lies, and heartbreak.
Now… it held something new.
Laughter.
“Dad! Watch this!”
Lily spun clumsily across the living room in a bright yellow dress, her teddy bear tucked under one arm. She giggled as she nearly lost her balance.
Ethan caught her just in time, lifting her into the air. “Careful, superstar,” he teased, smiling in a way he hadn’t in years.
Across the room, Sarah watched them, her eyes filled with warmth—and peace.
Things hadn’t been easy.
There were apologies. Legal battles. Consequences.
Vanessa was gone—her influence and control stripped away by the truth she tried to bury.
But in the aftermath… something beautiful had grown.
A family.
Not perfect.
Not untouched by pain.
But real.
Ethan set Lily down gently. “You hungry?” he asked.
“Always!” she grinned.
Sarah laughed softly. “I think she gets that from you.”
Ethan smiled, glancing between them. “I’ve missed a lot of time… but I’m not missing anything else.”
Lily ran over and wrapped her arms around both of them. “We’re together now,” she said simply.
And she was right.
The past had been filled with storms.

But the future?
It was finally clear.
