Elegant.

Composed.

Elara’s mother.

And behind her—

Board members.

Investors.

People Marcus had spent years trying to impress.

And failed.

Another responded quietly, “Not half… controlling interest.”

Marcus’s throat tightened.

Elara turned slowly toward him.

For the first time that night—

He looked small.

“You said I was invisible,” Elara said softly.

Khloe crossed her arms, trying to hold onto confidence.

“You were.”

Elara nodded.

“I was.”

Then she stepped forward.

And everything changed.

“Because I chose to be.”

The room went still.

“I gave up my name. My inheritance. My influence. Not because I had none… but because I believed love was enough.”
