Chapter 4: Justice and Forgiveness

Richard Harrison stood trial months later.
The courtroom was filled with whispers, headlines, and disbelief. A powerful man brought down not by business failure—but by a secret buried for decades.
Eleanor testified with quiet strength. She didn’t shout. She didn’t seek revenge.
She told the truth.
Sofia was asked to speak as well. Her hands trembled as she took the stand.
“I lost two lives,” she said. “The one I could have had… and the one I thought was mine. But I was also given love—real love—from the woman who raised me.”
She paused, her voice steadying.
“So I won’t let this define me. I choose to move forward.”
Richard was found guilty.
As he was led away, he looked at Sofia—not as a father, but as a man finally forced to face what he had done.
