Chapter 15: The Dawn of Truth

Sunlight began to creep over the city skyline, casting a warm, golden glow into the penthouse safe house. Ethan stood by the window, watching the sunrise. For the first time since his first wife passed away, the crushing weight on his chest was gone.
Clara emerged from the hallway, dressed in comfortable clothes Ethan had ordered for her. She moved quietly, checking on Leo one last time before stepping into the living room.
"He's still sleeping," she murmured, offering a small, tired smile.
"Let him rest," Ethan said, turning to face her. "He's safe. We all are."
Ethan walked over to a side table and picked up a thick manila envelope, handing it to Clara. She took it hesitantly, her good hand tracing the seal.
"What is this?"
"It's a trust, Clara," Ethan explained gently. "Enough money to ensure you never have to work as a servant for anyone, ever again. You can go to school, buy a home, start a business. Whatever you want."
Clara stared at the envelope, tears welling in her eyes. "Mr. Ethan, I didn't do it for money. I did it because I love Leo."

"I know," Ethan smiled warmly. "And I'm not asking you to leave. In fact, if you want to stay, you will never be a maid in my house again. You are family, Clara. You protected my son when I was blind to the danger. You will always have a place with us, as an equal."
Clara looked from the envelope to Ethan, a profound sense of peace finally washing over her as the first rays of morning light filled the room. The darkness had been defeated, and a new life was just beginning.
