CHAPTER 1 â âThe Name She Never Saidâ

The garden fell into a stunned silence after the helicopterâs rotors began to fade.
The Powerful Man still held the pregnant woman close, his arm steady around her shoulders. The bouquet of red roses rested against his chest, slightly crushed from the wind.
The Blonde Socialite forced a nervous laugh, trying to regain control of the moment.
âI⊠I didnât realize you were with her,â she said carefully, her voice losing its earlier arrogance.
The man didnât even look at her.
His eyes stayed on the Pregnant Woman.
âIâve always been with her,â he said quietly.
A few of the Villa Guests exchanged uneasy glances. Champagne glasses lowered. No one laughed anymore.
The pregnant woman finally lifted her eyes.
âYou cameâŠâ she whispered.
His expression softened.
âI promised I would.â
A painful silence followedâheavy, meaningful.
And then the Blonde Socialite stepped forward again, weaker now.
âBut she told everyone you left herâŠâ
The manâs gaze finally shifted toward herâcold, controlled.
âI never left,â he said. âSomeone made sure we were separated.â
May you like
The pregnant womanâs breath caught slightly.
Like she was hearing that sentence for the first time.
