CHAPTER 2 â âSix Years of Missing Truthsâ

That night, the villa was no longer a place of celebration.
It had become something elseâan interrogation of memories.
Inside a quiet glass-walled room, the Powerful Man stood beside the Pregnant Woman, who now sat carefully on a sofa, one hand still resting protectively over her belly.
The Blonde Socialite was no longer surrounded by laughter.
She stood alone near the window.
âI didnât lie,â she said quickly. âI only repeated what I was told.â
The man turned slightly.
âBy who?â
A pause.
Then she hesitated.
ââŠSomeone who said you were gone. That she should move on. That it was better this way.â
The Pregnant Womanâs eyes filled, not with angerâbut with realization.
âSo I was never abandonedâŠâ she said softly. âI was kept away.â
The man knelt in front of her, carefully taking her hand.
âI searched for you,â he said. âFor years. Every lead ended in silence.â
His voice lowered.
âUntil I found out who controlled the narrative.â
Outside, the helicopter still sat under the moonlight, like a reminder of how long the truth had been delayed.
The Blonde Socialite finally spoke again, her voice smaller now.
âI thought I was protecting the image of the familyâŠâ
The man stood.
âYou protected a lie.â
But the Pregnant Womanâcalmer nowâlooked at her.
May you like
âNo,â she said gently. âYou protected fear.â
That sentence changed the air in the room.
